I carry his songs with me for years now. Walking down the hill to the shop with his sweet voice serenading my thoughts and the rocksteady beat counting my steps, Alton Ellis has been making sure I will be in a good mood as I start the day. The fact that the man is now no longer with us would not change that beat nor the jaunt in my feet but I’m sad.
